Notes

• On Mac OS 9, the memory allocated to the Authorware piece may need to be increased; the exact memory required depends on the size and resolution of the largest page of your PDF document. The minimum suggested memory for an Impressario piece is at least 80MB, for printing high-quality
• DeletePages is not supported on Mac OS 9

Installation

• Extract the contents of the file named Impressario-aw.zip to Authorware's Xtras folder
• Extract the contents of the file named Impressario-kos-aw6.zip (or Impressario-kos-aw7.zip) to Authorware's Knowledge Objects folder
• Open Authorware and click Insert > Integration New Media > Impressario...
• In the Impressario Properties dialog box, which opens, click Enter Key and enter the
  User name, Company name, and License Key (or Trial Key) that was e-mailed to you when you downloaded the files
• Click Enter, when you are done. Your Trial version of Impressario is now ready for use

Special Considerations

• Actions encoded within PDF documents are not supported, except for hyperlinks
• Plug-ins, such as QuickTime™ and Flash™, are not supported
• Alpha channel in PDF documents is not supported
• PDF document pages that contain large, high-resolution images (1MB) may be slow to display and interact with
• Impressario displays images on screen in RGB color. PDF documents created for print, using CMYK color may appear differently in Impressario. (Please see the PDF Enhancer, for a tool that converts PDFs to RGB colorspace.)
• With some print drivers, PDF pages that are cropped may not print properly
• PDFs that are encrypted are not supported (hyperlinks do not work)
• Text fields support most high-ASCII characters in the 1252 character set (Windows ANSI). However, there are a few rare characters that are not supported in Impressario text fields. Please see the list of unsupported characters (PDF file - 100KB) for more precision
• The character limit for single-line text fields is 253; for multi-line fields it is 1024
• Double-byte characters are not supported for form fields
• The ReplaceImage() method, used to customize bitmaps within your PDF documents, requires the definition of "containers", which are only supported with Acrobat 6 and higher. The image to be replaced must be a raster (bitmap) image; vector images are not supported
• For Web deployment, we recommend high-speed Internet access. The PDF Library files required for Impressario are around 6MB to download and, in addition to that one-time download, you need to take into account the download time for each PDF document displayed. You can compress the PDF Library DLLs using ASPack for faster download
